This is Mathilda “Tilly” Nelly de Vries. Tilly lived on Plantage Kerklaan in Amsterdam’s Jewish Quarter until she was arrested in March 1941 for membership in a resistance group. During this tour I will take you on a trip through the Jewish Quarter and I will tell you more about Tilly’s fate and the history of the neighborhood in which she lived.
